Golf Breaks
The Park Hotel, Montrose is the perfect base for a Golf Break in Angus. Golf is in abundance in this part of Scotland. Angus itself has dozens of courses available to visitors and the historic Montrose 1562 Course - the 5th oldest in the world - is only a few minute's walk away with Carnoustie, Panmure, Monifieth and Edzell all within 20 to 35 minutes drive, with the world famous courses of St. Andrews only an hour away.
In addition there are a further 25 golf courses within a 45 minute drive - the most difficult decision will be choosing which ones to play!

Montrose is an historic seaside town with a population of around 15,000. It is located almost midway between Dundee and Aberdeen. This makes it an ideal base for visiting the small fishing villages and towns dotted along the coast, or for a trip inland to discover the beautiful Angus Glens.
Montrose Basin Wildlife Centre and Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre are a few minutes drive from the hotel and House of Dun – a National Trust for Scotland Adam mansion - lies just outside the town. Glamis Castle is around 24 miles to the south and Dunottar Castle is around 24 miles to the north of the hotel.
Walkers and cyclists can enjoy the roads and tracks in and around the town or travel a few miles to the beautiful Angus Glens for a more scenic experience.

There are 3 Bowling Clubs in and around Montrose. Nearest to the hotel is Hope Paton Bowling Club (across the road from us); Montrose Bowling Club (500 yards away) and Hillside Bowling Club.

Activities in the Angus Glens
There is a wealth of activities to fit into a short break or longer holiday in and around Montrose. These range from canoeing and cycling to paint-balling and wind-surfing.
If you prefer something more adventurous, Glentrek offer a wide range of outdoor pursuits around the Angus Glens.
