Montrose is an historic seaside town with a population of around 15,000. It is located almost midway between Dundee and Aberdeen. This makes it an ideal base for visiting the small fishing villages and towns dotted along the coast, or for a trip inland to discover the beautiful Angus Glens.
Golf is in abundance in this part of Scotland. Angus itself has dozens of courses available to visitors and the historic Montrose Links course is literally five minutes from the hotel.
Walkers and cyclists can enjoy the roads and tracks in and around Montrose and for sightseers you can also visit Glamis Castle or the House of Dun or spend a day sightseeing and shopping in Dundee or Aberdeen.
From the A90, turn off at A935 (Brechin) and follow signs to Montrose (approximately 9 miles). Alternatively, from the south, follow the Angus coastal route from Dundee on the A92. On arrival in Montrose, follow signs for the town centre. John Street is off the high street by the Bank of Scotland.
