There are 5 Bowling Clubs in and around Montrose. The 3 nearest the hotel are Hope Paton Bowling Club (across the road from us); Melville Bowling Club (500 yards away) and Montrose Bowling Club.

Activities in the Angus Glens

There is a wealth of activities to fit into a short break or longer holiday in and around Montrose.  These range from canoeing and cycling to paint-balling and wind-surfing. 

If you prefer something more adventurous, Glentrek offer a wide range of outdoor pursuits around the Angus Glens.  The activities below are usually for a minimum group of six but they also offer self-led walking and/or cycling holidays and either mountain bike hire or a days' guided mountain-biking for smaller groups.

Mountain biking day with a guide - explore the Angus Glens ‘off the beaten track'. Get some tips on riding off road. Suitable for beginners - £40.

Gorge Walking- get wet and have fun! Suitable for all ages and abilities...slide down flumes and jump into pools safely with an instructor at our scenic location. Participants must be able to swim - £40

Guided Hillwalk - explore our wonderful hills and mountains with the safety of a knowledgeable mountain leader. We have spectacular hikes up to mountain views which are second to none! Lower level walks also available - £35

Abseiling/Climbing - this is a fun activity for all ages - £40

Canyon Day - the ultimate thrill in the most spectacular Angus location. Start with a 75ft abseil down into the gorge followed by an exciting swim to the jump pool. Finish with a tightrope walk across a 100 ft waterfall! Participants must be 18 years of age or older and able to swim - From £45

Coasteering- explore those areas of Angus coastline which are hard to reach with this mix of scrambling, swimming and jumping into deep water. Great for those looking for a challenge and adventure! - £45

Cave Walks - fun activity for those who like dark places and who want to walk the Angus coastline and see up close some of the unique wildlife that lives there - £40
